Calling all leaders who feel a life calling to stand on the front lines in the mission to restore hope to survivors of sexual exploitation.

Our ministry internship experience will allow you to spend 6-8 weeks working alongside veterans in holistic and trauma-informed care as you serve survivors of sexual exploitation who are experiencing new hope and freedom through Project Rescue initiatives.

FAQs

  • The dates for the internship are set according to what works best for the affiliated site leaders. The internship typically starts toward the end of May and continues through the month of July, between 4-6 weeks.

  • The location for the internship varies from year to year. It is dependent upon which affiliated sites are able to host interns at the time. If there is more than one location available, your preference will be considered but not guaranteed.

    • You must be at least 20 years old by the time the internship begins.

    • You must have a United States passport.

    • Prior overseas experience is preferred but not required.

    • Prior experience working with a vulnerable population is preferred but not required.

  • In 2012 Project Rescue offered the first Project Rescue male internship. Men who feel a calling to work with boys growing up in the red light district are encouraged to apply.

  • The internship budget is generally around $5000, but this amount may vary depending on location and time spent serving. The amount includes an orientation before you go overseas, airfare, food, lodging, insurance, and local travel costs. Interns are responsible to raise their support.

  • The most important responsibility will be to serve in any and every way asked of you. Below is a list of possible tasks you might be given, but it is certainly not exhaustive.

    • Teach English

    • Lead worship

    • Teach a skill (dance, cooking, painting, etc.)

    • Tell Bible stories or lead a devotional

    • Assist with office work

    • Cleaning

    • Yard work

    • Accompany a woman/child to an appointment

    • Be present in the home, just listening to and interacting with the women/children

    • Participate in an outreach or detection program

    • Spend time in intercession

  • Applications open in August for the next year’s summer program. You must first submit a pre-approval application. If this is approved, you will then receive a link to complete two additional applications by email. These forms are typically due by the end of October. We cannot accept late applications.
