Intern Testimony

“The most challenging part was seeing and hearing heartbreaking things that people go through but this also showed me the heart of God. The people that have walked through some of the most challenging circumstances have the most joy I have ever seen. I felt like I was seeing a true picture of what the Lord being near to the brokenhearted looks like.”

“I learned all about a new country and their culture, how to live and work with a new person, how to build relationships with students and staff, and how to acclimate to a new culture, food, and many other things. I also learned more about my calling to missions, what that could potentially look like overseas, and God's heart for His hurting daughters around the world.”

“The most life changing thing I experienced was seeing the power of Gods restoring love. His love changed peoples lives and took them out of darkness and now they are completely different people. I also learned how important a ministry of presence is.”

“It was an honor to participate in the Project Rescue internship program. It awarded me a summer I will never forget, filled with gritty and raw experiences that helped me understand the horrors of exploitation and trafficking. I had never been face-to-face with such desperation. But, it was also filled with stunning displays of redemption and restoration through the love of Christ. I watched women arrive at our Home of Hope broken and hopeless. And then I watched Hope, in the form of compassion-filled workers and excellent practitioners, meet them right where they were.

It was surreal to play a small role in their journey to freedom and wholeness. I learned so much about ministry, about culture, and even about myself. I learned so much about the Lord and his tender heart for the hurting and exploited. This was much more than a summer internship for me. It was a great privilege to experience, and it was fuel for my future.”
